It still does not feel like summer here, we are having a long cold spring, I think we have only had one hot day so far. But the countryside is green and spectacular and the weeds in the garden are flourishing. Yesterday was day 160, and I have not missed a day, I deserve a pat on the back (pats herself on the back). Anyway, here are this week’s efforts, I am really enjoying the water colour pencils and have treated myself to a few more (the boxed set has a very poor selection of greens) so I am waiting impatiently for the postman.
You DO deserve a pat on the back! I love the wood and the bottom daisy the most. I like that you use a variety of mediums and focus on different subjects, too.
Thank you, yes I try to vary what I draw to keep myself interested, and the medium too. My favourite at the moment is the watercolour pencils.
I love them too, and as you say, it is lots of fun to switch around!
The first drawing is my favorite, I like the colors and the wildness of the flowers.
Thank you Laura.
My vote this week would be for the bamboo and silver birch – lovely style and the silver birch is just so good. I think you deserve a huge pat on the back for getting to day 160 – I’m sure I couldn’t do it.
Thanks Chris, that was the drawing I spent the most time on – and I think it shows. I’m amazed at myself getting to 161 now! Still time will tell if I get to 31st December……. Sue
I really adore that Woodstore and Silver Birch. What kind of new pencils did you buy?
Faber Castell Albrecht Durer watercolour pencils.
My daughter is loving her watercolour pencils too. She finds them so much easier to control than a traditional brush. I would love to have a go with them! There’s a good art shop in Bungay we have been using for a year or so.
I love the silver birch and bamboo sketch. I agree totally about our chilly weather – I long for warmth!
I liked the texture in the daisy at the bottom. Makes me want to touch the page!
Absolutely you deserve a pat on the back Sue. I was telling my husband about your project yesterday and saying how hard you found it some days to whip up enthusiasm but that you always followed through. That’s a big deal, dance, celebrate!
Yay!!
Congratulations Sue, that is a huge milestone and a great effort. Beautiful drawings again. Are you pleased with how much your drawings have improved? Karen
Yes and also my confidence has grown, I just launch into my daily drawing and see where it goes. There is always tomorrow to do a better one!
