This has been a huge week for me, on day 191 we finally exchanged contracts on the sale of our house and the purchase of a new house! The process of selling and buying houses is tortuous and slow and has been a huge strain; the daily drawing practice has given me a break from thinking about stuff, but even that hasn’t worked these past few days as you can see in the quality of my drawings! Still we did get a couple of days camping at the seaside at Eccles on Sea (what a fab name). Packing is now in full swing and my workroom is all packed up, if I manage a drawing a day in the next week it will be a flipping miracle………… Goodbye country cottage, hello townie life.
Always enjoy your sketching
Have you thought about using a brightly coloured line on coloured paper? So instead of grey pencil on white paper try bright pink on blue? It might give you a different perspective on line quality and the division of the space.
What a good idea Jack, I might try that. I am limited for materials at the moment as all packed up, but that sounds like fun
Good luck with your move! Your sketches are always beautiful. 💜
That’s kind of you to say that, but they are a bit half hearted at the moment.
They don’t look it! I’d have never known.
I am amazed you have managed to draw anything! Love the hollyhock and dahlia 2 sketches. I hope your move goes smoothly. We vowed we’d never move again after the last one though I’m sure we will have to, eventually…maybe…one day 😦
Hooray! With best wishes from South Africa. Cold and wet here at 10/11C but making progress.
Yay! you can park at mine when we go drawing…….. Hope the weather improves soon.
What a big move Sue, you will be so glad you have done all these lovely sketches of your house and garden as great memories. How exciting to be moving into town, call me strange, but I love moving and starting on a brand new chapter of my life. (Packing is always a pain though). Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly. Karen
It will be strange, we will be moving one week before we complete our 29th year in this house. The drawings were a great way of connecting to the house and the big part it has played in my life. Excited about the future and what it will bring……
I particularly like the choisya leaves, Sue. And I am very much looking forward to your living in town – I really hope that you both take to town life which is rich and diverse in such a different way from life in the country. Looking forward to drawing with you in the town and surrounds. much love
Yes, it will be fun, finding things to draw in the park, and I will really have to get to grips with perspective if I start drawing more buildings. What fun……
