Gradually the swirling piles of possessions are beginning to settle, and this place is beginning to feel like home. I have been disorientated in the early mornings when I fail to recognise the ceiling in my new bedroom and wonder where I am. I have little moments when it dawns on me that someone else is living in ‘my house’ and I have vivid memories of the old place, strengthened I suspect by the sketches I made. All this said, I am happy in the new house and this week I even unearthed my coloured pencils and gave them an airing.
Here are my drawing for Week 34 – I continue to be amazed that I have continued this project for so long, I guess it has become a habit…..
231 Table and Chair
232 Autumn Leaf (or should I say August leaf)
233 Variegated Leaf
234 Felting Group
235 Wonky Shed
237 Chaos in the Workroom
The weeks are passing at a terrifying speed and we are gradually settling into our new home. I now have the start of a usable workroom and I am looking forward to getting my coloured pencils out again. This past few weeks I have only had a pencil case and sketchbook easily to hand, the sewing has gone for a burton as I am too tired when I sit down in the evening and I haven’t sorted out a good sewing light. Item 151 on the ‘to do’ list…………….
This weeks offerings:
226 Srivandana drawing
227 More resting
228 Sit still please!
229 Brush pen experiment
230 Pears and Bananas
This has been the hardest week of the year so far to keep the project going. I thought it was hard enough before the move when I was packing everything away – well little did I know that that was the easy bit. Unpacking is far, far harder – who knew! This is because as each item is unpacked it has to be put away or placed somewhere and in a new house these places have not evolved yet, so each item has to be thought about and that takes time. Most of my drawings this week have been late night or when I am out and about and a shocking bunch they are this time.
219 Woman Knitting
220 Steve’s leaving do
221 Washing Line
222 Bar Stools (despite appearances I was not drunk)
223 John (he has more beard than this but he moved so only has a moustache)
Just as many previous weeks have involved packing up possessions now I am involved with unpacking them….. My workroom has become the dumping ground for everything that does not yet have a place in our new home so I can barely move in the space, but on the positive side the rest of the house is taking shape. I have kept up the drawing but they are mostly late night drawings as I keep getting sidetracked during the day.
This is a good likeness of my son and I am pleased with this drawing
211 Late, late night drawing
212 Dresser (top only as I ran out of energy and paper)
213 Just resting my eyes
214 Just resting my legs
215 Not Packing but Unpacking
216 Aloe Vera
