Moving in, moves on and my current obsessions are not artistic but sadly prosaic involving soft furnishings and light fitments which involve me saying ‘how much?!’ in an astonished manner more often than I care to think about. My new garden has been planted for low maintenance and not for beauty so there is not much to inspire me but I have been making plans for next year to dig up the grass and cram the space with the edible and the beautiful.
Always love your postings. Thanks for sharing.
Your drawings look very nice! You are very committed, as well, it’s not a joke to follow up for 365 days in a row.
That doesn’t work with me because I get too many unscheduled jobs with tight deadlines, that leaves no space for my own ideas.
It seems you’ve enjoyed a lot what you’re drawing. Looking forward to seeing more!
Yes, I have been enjoying the drawing, and I think my skills have improved with the practice.
Aren’t soft furnishings expensive! For such small amounts of material used and probably not much labour the prices are phenomenal! I love the pelargonium sketches and the way you have used ink in the aloe drawing. Is that your poor husband dozing again?
Yes they are! and I am only buying the fabric as I will make them all myself. Yes, my husband finds it very easy to rest his eyes as soon as he sits down, in fairness this drawing was done late in the evening.
I’m not a confident seamstress so when we needed curtains for our living room I had them made up by someone else. That was expensive enough but I recently had them dry-cleaned and that cost more than the curtains did to buy! My husband and I spend our evenings dozing these days.
I am with you on the cost of soft furnishings, I can’t believe how much money they think we will pay for a simple pillow! Great drawings though. Karen
