I was not able to attend my drawing class this week so I sat down and made up the time so at least I will not fall behind all the others in the class. I have left the tulip (it is not finished yet) and started on the chrysanthemum. I wanted to start to see how the reds would work together and assess the composition. Photograph not very good……but I can’t face tackling photo editing again……
Week 51!!?? You gotta be kiddin’ me! Well fancy that, just 9 more drawings to go…….. Well, they are not very exciting drawings this week, my workroom is in such a muddle I have only been able to perch on the corner of my table with a pencil and an A4 pad.
Just lost my entire post! I did not save it and left the page…………ARGGHGHGH My priceless words have just gone, never to be shared with the world – ha ha. You will never hear my musings on the season or my opinion of the current weather – aren’t you lucky?. I’m not going to try and rewrite so that’s all for this week folks.
My apologies for moaning on in the last two posts…….I have much to be grateful and happy about. I have food, shelter, family and friends and that is enough and is way more than other people. I have freedom and health and time and space to practice my art.
It has been tough this week to remain motivated, it’s almost as though with the finishing post in view I can’t be bothered anymore. I started the year with excitement and trepidation not sure if I could do it. During the year the project was a constant thing that I hung onto in a time of change, it was a punctuation point of every day, a sense of achievement every day. Now it feels more like a chore; guess I am having a bad week. Ignore me………..
I cracked out the serious charcoal this week! What fun, I had forgotten; I have been fiddling around with charcoal wrapped in a pencil – ha, that’s for wimps. I now have a box of willow charcoal which comes in virtually weightless slender twiglet shaped pieces of blackness. Thanks to Ed (my life drawing teacher) who got us to use tone this week I have felt very ‘artistic’ and getting very dirty.
A full on family week has not left much time or energy for drawing or writing.
There was much interest last week in Mabel, so I have cropped the photo and put the enlargement in this week. She is about 12 inches tall I guess and this is her regular daytime roost.
Things must be settling down as I am finding more time for drawing which is good, I am also finding that I would like to do more time intensive stuff – maybe larger drawings or more detailed or pictures that take more than a couple of hours to complete. But it will have to wait…..
Finally this week all our possessions have been gathered together again under one roof so to speak. With the collection of the hand cart (don’t ask!) from its temporary resting place we can now see the full size of our stuff problem. It is not as bad as I thought and over time the stuff will be tamed and cut down in size.
Well my colour mojo is back, now that my table is set up and my coloured pencils are out I have no excuses. My coloured pencil skills have become a little rusty but it is such fun to be in colour again.
Another skimpy post this week…………………. I am at a loss to where my days go, and so quickly too.
